Concept:
Beginning on June 1st, 2013 the Maryland Crossbow Federation is terminating its
practice of accepting big game entries into its award programs that were harvested
prior to the hunter becoming a Maryland Crossbow Federation member.
Beginning on June 1st, 2013 a person MUST be a Maryland Crossbow Federation
member prior to the animals harvest, in order for that animal to be eligible for any Big
Game challenges and registration into the Maryland Crossbow Federation's BIG GAME
REGISTER.
Rational:
Hunters are harvesting an animal, then joining the Maryland Crossbow Federation for
$20.00, then receiving $85.00 in benefits and then not renewing their membership.
This practice is costing the Maryland Crossbow Federation's general membership too
much money.
This practice is counter productive to what our awards program is trying to
accomplish, which is to REWARD ITS CURRENT MEMBERS. The new concept will
stimulate the recruitment and retainment of our general membership.
