





The Maryland Crossbow Federation was founded by Dennis Ray Britton on September 14, 2009 for
the purpose of uniting the crossbow community into a single fraternity and to represent that voice
in Annapolis and Washington DC on all legal crossbow related issues.
- On February 18, 2010 The Maryland Crossbow Federation attended the Maryland Department of
Natural Resources, Wildlife and Heritage Service, Stakeholder's Meeting at the Gwynnbrook NRP
Office Building, where the MCF introduced the concept - Crossbows legal for the entire archery
season, for all archery legal wild game, for all hunters, with no restrictions or limits, including
magnifying scopes and no extra stamp requirement.
- On Thursday, March 4, 2010 at 7:p.m.The MCF attended the Department of Natural Resource's first
presentation of the proposed crossbow concepts to the general public at the Annapolis Senior
High School, 2700 Riva Road in Annapolis, Maryland.
- On Tuesday, March 9, 2010 at 7:p.m. The MCF attended the second and last Department of Natural
Resource's presentation of the crossbow concepts, at
the South Hagerstown High School, 1101 South Potomac Street, Hagerstown Maryland.
- The Maryland Crossbow Federation supported their concept from its introduction until 4:00 pm on
March 15, 2010 the very last day of the public comment period.
- The Maryland Crossbow Federation's concept was overwhelmingly passed at all test levels and
came into affect for the 2010 - 2011 hunting season.
- The Maryland Crossbow Federation lobbied for crossbows to be included in House Bills, HB
876-more Sunday hunting in Garrett, Allegany -six added days
And House Bill 301 more Sunday hunting in Prince Georges, St. Mary's and
Charles counties - six added days.
